Ahh, I love Fridays!! Usually around here we have a three day weekend every weekend. See the hubby works weird hours...he works 4 days 10 hours each day on night shift...but since the beginning of the year he has been pulling A LOT of overtime, while good for our pocket-books, it's a bummer that we only have one day to spend with him. Anyway, today was a good day for us, we made the best of the morning/afternoon since he had to be at work this evening. We went to the local Community College (hubs had to take an exam), then we had lunch at "Rubys" (Ruby Tuesdays), & went shopping for a new TV. We've been needing a new TV for a long time (we were still living in the stone age, our TV was nearly as old as me, and had seen better days)...and finally our TV decided to pass on. We had credit at a local rent to own store (quite a bit of credit), plus they had an awesome deal (3 weeks no payments). So we are the proud (semi) owners of a 40" Toshiba LED TV. We're not sure if we are going to keep it, or just go the cheaper route & buy one straight up from Walmart when we get our tax returns, but since our TV died we needed to get one today. (Lord knows this household couldn't survive a day without a TV or DVR, because I'm an addict).
I also was on the search for items for next months sensory tub. Okay, so I know you are asking what a sensory tub is...and my next blog will be devoted to telling you all about them, on my new page "Preschool at Home" (attatched to this blog). I usually go to the dollar store to find items to put in it, they usually have such cute items to correspond with the up-coming holidays...however today I was quite disappointed. I only found a couple semi-good ideas. (So I'll have to find something on tomorrows shopping excursion).
When we got home I did a quick clean up on the house & started supper since the hubby had to leave for work. Now, it's "date" nite for me & my toddler....cheese nips, juice, DVRs of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, reading his new books, & (my favorite) SNUGGLING! Nights like these are the best, just wish the hubs was here to snuggle with us. Bedtime will come soon, then Mommy **must** get some school work done.
